KARACHI, Aug 25: Pakistan Academy won the one-day series against their South African counterparts by scoring a crushing 122-run victory in the third and final game at Johannesburg on Sunday.

Batting first, Pakistan Academy reached 278 for four in their allotted quota of 50 overs. Left-handed opener Salman Butt hammered 107 off 129 deliveries, a knock that included 15 boundaries.

Skipper Faisal Iqbal weighed in with an undefeated 79. His 68-ball innings contained five fours and three sixes.

South Africa Academy were never in the hunt after Fahad Masood destroyed the top-order batting. The medium-pacer returned excellent analysis of six for 26 as the home side were all out for 156 in 34.2 overs.

M. Smith, however, restored some pride for his team by hitting eight fours and a six in making 67, while M. Harris struck 43.

Leg-spinner Mansoor Amjad claimed two for 28.
