MUZAFFARGARH: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) will hold its power show in Kot Addu on Nov 3. All perspective candidates from Muzaffargarh PTI tickets for the next elections are busy gathering people for the rally where party chief Imran Khan will speak.

One group says Mr Khan is coming to the rally on the request of former governor Mustafa Khar and Sardar Ashraf Khan Rind.

His claim was contested by Dr Shabbir Qureshi, the son of late former PPP MNA Mohsin Qureshi, that Mr Khan had in fact graced his request to visit the city. Both Khar and Qureshi are vying for the PTI ticket for the Kot Addu constituency.

Nawabzada Ahmad Khan, district PTI president, however, said that he had met Mr Khan recently, and in fact the public rally was part of the party policy.

Mr Rind told Dawn many new politicians would join the PTI.

Malik Raza Rabbani Khar, brother of former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar, said his uncle, Mustafa Khar, had also asked his father, MNA Rabbani Khar, to join the PTI but they would remain loyal to the PPP.

Interestingly, MNA Jamshed Dasti, who was trying to merge his Awami Raj Party into the PTI, is absent from the rally campaign.

Mr Dasti said he would also attend the rally to thank for his support during his recent detention.
