FALLUJAH, Aug 25: Three US soldiers were wounded on Monday morning when three rocket propelled grenades (RPGs) were fired at their convoy near Habbaniya, near the flashpoint town of Fallujah, 50 kilometres west of Baghdad, a witness said.

Hamed Khamis Hamoud, a 45-year-old railwayman, said a vehicle was also damaged in the attack.

“The American soldiers left with the damaged vehicle before returning with two tanks and blocking the road,” he said.

There have been frequent attacks on the road between Fallujah and the nearby US base. —AFP
