LARKANA, Aug 23: The death of a villager, Roshan Ali Sangi, caused by accidentally touching low-lying high tension wires passing over a farm sparked a protest against Hesco on Friday.

A large number of protesters, chanting slogans against Hesco officials, blocked the Indus Highway and demanded that action be taken against them.

A Larkana MNA, Mohammed Anwar Bhutto, talked to the protesters after calling the Hesco official concerned.

PROTEST: People blocked the main airport road in the jurisdiction of the Dari police station in protest against the suspension of electricity to Allahabad and its adjoining areas for the last two days. They said that they had complained to Hesco officials to restore the power supply but in vain.

A heavy contingent of police arrived there along with the SDO concerned.

The protesters cleared the road when they were assured that the power supply to their area would be restored soon.
