LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore on Tuesday arrested an assistant commissioner in a Wagah Town scam.

According to a NAB spokesman, AC Safdar Virk is involved in embezzling millions of rupees in connivance with other officials. The suspects filed bogus entries during the registry process, he said.

“We have arrested AC Virk, Fahad Saleem, Khalid Mehmood, Abdul Khaliq and Abid Ali Ansari,” he said.

Acting on a complaint about financial mismanagement allegedly committed by the officials of Wagah Town, NAB launched investigation this April and it will present AC Virk before the accountability court today (Wednesday) to get his physical remand.
