SIALKOT, Aug 21: Members of Gepco and Fesco teams were thrashed by villagers when they caught electricity thieves in Sialkot and Faisalabad on Wednesday night.

A Gepco’s team was severely beaten up by electricity thieves in Zafarwal (Shakargarh).

Led by Line Superintendent Muhammad Imran, a Gepco entered the house of PML-Q’s Zafarwal senior vice-president Jameel Zargar by scaling the boundary wall. The team found that Mr Zargar was using electricity through a cable connected to the main supply line.

Meanwhile, family members of the PML-Q leader gathered and thrashed members of Gepco team. Gepco’s Zafarwal SDO has lodged a complaint with the area police.

FAISALABAD: A Fesco team was thrashed by the friends of a farmer in Tandlianwala area.

Headed by AMO Shah Hussain, a Fesco team raided the outhouse of Rafiq Shah in Khai village and caught him red-handed while stealing electricity.

The accused called his friends — identified as Sajjad Shah, Sohail Shah and Murtaza Shah — who thrashed the members of Fesco team.
