LAKKI MARWAT: Tribal elders of the Frontier Region Lakki Marwat have warned that the local residents will agitate if the government doesn’t remove the agency education officer within a week.

The warning was issued during a protest staged outside the offices of the political administration in Mastikhel Bettanni area here on Sunday.

The elders accompanied by scores of tribesmen from Mastikhel, Alikhel, Fareedkhel, Gulikhel, Tajbikhel and Azadkhel areas shouted slogans against AEO Bakhtiar Wazir and relevant officials of the education department over his appointment.

They insisted that Bakhtiar Wazir was a secondary schoolteacher and lacked experience to manage the AEO office and that his appointment was made in violation of merit. Malik Juma Khan and Ishfaq Khan said the replacement of competent and talented officers with incompetent ones would harm the cause of education in the region.
