QUETTA: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) secretary general Liaquat Baloch has welcomed the homecoming of Gazain Marri and urged Baloch activists living abroad to return and fight for their rights in a political and democratic way.

India, he added, was behind the display of “free Balcohistan” banners in Switzerland.

Speaking at the party office on Friday, he said the JI welcomed Pakhtun Culture Day being celebrated on Sept 23 and holding of International Pashto Conference organised by Pashto Academy in Quetta.

Mr Balcoh said that the JI in its next phase of public awareness campaign in October would stage a sit-in in Islamabad with the slogan “corruption-free Pakistan”.

He added that during the Islamic month of Muharram sectarian unity and harmony would play an effective role.

Mr Baloch asked the federal government to take notice and investigate recruitments on fake domiciles of Balochistan.

He said people across the country held protests against the Myanmar government over the persecution of Rohingya Muslims in the country.

He said Turkey and Saudi Arabia supported Rohingya Muslims on the diplomatic front while Pakistan limited its role just to condemnation. The federal government should announce political, diplomatic and moral support to them, he demanded.
