KHAR: The Tribal Areas Electric Supply Company (Tesco) on Friday started installation of meters in Bajaur agency.

Talking to reporters here, sub-divisional officer Anwar Khan said the meters were initially being installed at the administration’s offices and officials’ residences in civil colony, Khar.

He said the exercise would soon be extended to other parts of the agency as installation of meters was necessary to ensure that consumers paid the bills regularly and power theft was curbed.

“We have started installation of meters from the residence of the political agent,” he added.

The official said Tesco with the support of local administrating had finalised its strategy to start installation of meters at domestic and commercial properties. The official said action against the double connection holders would be started from next week.
