VEHARI: Electricity supply to the DHQ Hospital remained suspended for six hours after its main supply line caught fire due to a short circuit on Monday.

Rescue 1122 in-charge Danish said the fire was controlled after efforts of about an hour. The supply line was partially restored when this report was filed.

District health authority’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Shoaib Gormani told Dawn the cause of the short circuit was extra load on the power supply line. He said repair work was going on and all the damaged wires would be replaced soon. It is worth mentioning that the power supply line has caught fire four times in the hospital in the last four months due to overload and short circuit.
