KARACHI: Eight horses, including two debutants, will battle it out in The Starcruz Cup when it takes place in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

The horses who will make their debut include bay horse Wood Pecker and bay mare Atrocity.

To be contested over four-and-a-half furlongs, the cup race which is third in day’s racing order, will take place in the combined lowest scale order VII and VIII.

As many as 29 horses have entered the day’s races and will vie for the honours barring last-minute withdrawal.

The first two races including the feature event, scale order 1 and II, will be run over five furlongs. The next two races will go over four-and-a-half furlongs.

According to schedule, the first race gets into action at 3pm.

Tanya 10-0, Luck Pass 9-7, Doctor 9-3, Olympus 9-2, Blue Fairy 9-0, Minister Of Bhakkar 8-8, Lovely Baby 7-7.

Win: Olympus.

Place: Lovely Baby.

THE STARCRUZ CUP SCALE ORDER VII AND VIII 4 ½ F:

Afreen 9-2, Salam Kashmir 9-1, Duran Duran 9-0, Wood Pecker 8-8, Atrocity 8-5, Zarnatta 8-2, Winter 8-2, Achievement 7-6.

Win: Salam Kashmir.

Place: Duran Duran and Zarnatta.

THE STARCRUZ PLATE SCALE ORDER VI AND VII 4 ½ F:

Sonia Again 9-2, Race 8-8, Super Star 8-8, Sea Gold 8-6, Sunshine 8-6, Faryad Prince 8-0, Bijli 7-13.
