HYDERABAD, Aug 19: The Hyderabad District Councillors’ Alliance has expressed concern over the on-going confrontation among the Nazims, Naib Nazims and councillors of several union councils saying that it is not a good omen for the nascent local bodies system.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the general secretary of the alliance, Abdur Rauf Dawoodi, said that the elected representatives should discard their petty differences and work for the welfare of the people.

He said that from the beginning, certain disgruntled elements were working against the system and it was necessary to foil their conspiracies.

He appealed to the Nazims to share their responsibilities with their deputies and councillors because they too were an integral and important part of the new system.
