At least six Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel and a child were injured in two consecutive explosions at the Pak-Afghan border at Torkham, security officials said on Friday.

CCTV footage and security sources confirmed the explosions were caused by grenades.

The FC personnel, who were deployed at the gate, and a passerby child received injuries as a result of the two blasts.

Following the blasts, the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the adjoining areas. The border crossing was also closed for all types of traffic.

The nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained, the FC officials said.

Meanwhile, the injured have been rushed to the Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar, for treatment.
