KARACHI: Girl kidnapped

KARACHI, Aug 19: A three-year-old girl was abducted by unknown persons on the premises of the Quaid’s mausoleum on Sunday.

A first information report (150/2003) about her disappearance was lodged at the Brigade police station on Tuesday.

Police said Ghulam Nabi, an auto-mechanic in New Karachi, had come to the mausoleum on Sunday.

His three-year-old daughter, Nirma, was playing in the garden when she disappeared.

When the guards at the mausoleum were contacted they said that no girl had walked out of the premises alone.

Police suspected that someone had abducted the small girl.

Following the incident, the girl’s father fell ill and has been admitted to a hospital.

NADRA OFFICE: Three robbers broke open the office of the National Database Registration Authority in Awami Markaz and decamped with Rs159,000.

Police and Nadra officials said three robbers overpowered the private security guards posted at the Swift Centre in Awami Markaz in the night on Aug 14, broke open the gate and lockers, andtook away the cash. The Tipu Sultan police registered a case and begun investigation.
