QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has directed law enforcement agencies to take strict measures against terrorists and anti-social elements to ensure peace and protection of the life and property of people in the province.
Presiding over a meeting on law and order, here on Tuesday, he took serious notice of the killing of four members of Shia Hazara community in the Kuchlak area two days ago.
The meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation prevailing in the province and received a briefing by the authorities concerned about the incident.
The huddle that lasted several hours took various decisions on law and order situation and other issues and the chief minister directed all authorities concerned to start implementation of the decisions taken in the meeting without any delay.
Nawab Zehri said that providing protection to the life and property of the people was the prime responsibility of the government which would fulfil its responsibility at any cost. He said that terrorists and anti-social elements were “cancer” of the society and all possible steps should be taken to bring them to the justice.
“All institutions responsible for security and maintaining law and order situation should play their due role under a comprehensive strategy for the elimination of terrorism from our society,” the CM said. He lauded sacrifices the personnel of law enforcement agencies had rendered for restoring peace in the province and said that the provision of resources for training of police and Levies personnel would continue.
Prominent among the participants of the meeting were Provincial Minister for Education Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Chief Secretary Aurangzeb Haq, Senator Agha Shahzeb Durrani, Home Secretary Dr Mohammad Akbar Harifal, S&GDA Secretary Qamar Masood and Additional Inspector General of Balochistan Dr Mujeeb-ur-Rehman.
