LAYYAH: Nine people were killed and 14 others injured when a tractor trolley loaded with iron rods smashed into a van near Chak 315 TDA on MM Road.

According to details, 25 people of Chak 287 TDA were travelling in a van to ward number 5 to attend a wedding. When they reached near Chak 315 TDA, a tractor trolley loaded with iron rods hit the van while crossing a pick-up.

Chowk Azam and Fatehpur police along with a Rescue 1122 team rushed to the scene and recovered the injured and bodies after cutting through the van. The injured were shifted to Chowk Azam THQ hospital while four critically injured were shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan.

Those who did not survive included Amna Tahir, Eman Nasir, Parween Aslam, Iqra, Ghaffooran Bibi, Ahsanullah, Aiman Nasir, Ghulam Sabir and Rasheedan Bibi.
