LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz said on Thursday that her name was linked with the security leaks and Panama because she stood by her father.

Speaking at the women convention in Mozang in connection with the election campaign for NA-120, Maryam said: “I faced allegations in the security leaks episode and Panama because I stood by my father (ousted premier Nawaz Sharif).”

She said the ouster of her father amounted to halting the progress of the country. “Nawaz Sharif was disqualified at the time when motorways were being built and the work on historic CPEC project was under way,” she said.

Maryam said her father was disqualified when conspiracies like sit-in and rigging could not work.

Maryam said she was fighting the case of her father in the court of people. She said the voters of NA-120 should do justice to Nawaz on Sept 17 through vote for Begum Kulsoom.
