Inter-region tournament from today

LAHORE, Aug 16: Four matches will be played in the opening round of the newly introduced Inter-region Under-19 cricket tournament at different cities from Aug 17.

According to the schedule, on the first day of every match, a one-day match will be played. That will be followed up by a three-dayer between the same teams.

The nine regions—Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Quetta are taking part in the competition.

The regional teams were formed by the respective provincial associations on the basis of the inter-district competition that was played between July 11 and Aug 2.

First day schedule: Aug 17-20: Quetta v Multan (Multan Stadium); Karachi vs Sialkot (Quaid-i-Azam Park); Peshawar v Rawalpindi (KRL Stadium); Faisalabad v Lahore (Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad).
