CHARSADDA: Khurshid Umarzai, elder brother of QWP Charsadda district chairman Arshad Umarzai, was arrested from court premises after his bail before arrest was rejected by the district and sessions judge here on Wednesday.

Khurshid was accused of orchestrating a remote-controlled blast on convoy of ANP former provincial minister for forests Bashir Khan Umarzai on Jan 12, 2013.

Bashir had got injuries while his driver was killed in that attack.

The police had registered a case against QWP leaders Arshad and his brother Khurshid.

However, later in May 2017, MPA Arshad was acquitted by the relevant court after hearing his case.

Following which, Khurhsid also submitted BBA application in the court, but the latter rejected his bail plea and ordered his arrest from the court premises.
