GUJRANWALA, Aug 16: The Anti-Terrorism Court No 1 rejected on Saturday the Sialkot jail former superintendent’s plea of granting him A class in jail, and directed him to see the Punjab home secretary for this purpose.

Sikandar Hayat submitted an application with judge Iftikhar Husain Shah, requesting him to allow him A class in the Sialkot jail.

However, the judge rejected his plea, and directed him to meet the home secretary for this purpose.

Kasur District Police Officer Ghulam Muhammad Kalyar, who is investigating the case, and two DSPs were present on the occasion.

The court has already sent the former jail superintendent on six-day judicial remand.

WATCHMAN KILLED: A factory watchman was clubbed to death by four robbers, who failed to strike on the Kutcha Eminabad Road, here on Saturday.

According to reports, Ajmal Khan, a resident of Mansehra, was at the factory when four men came there. On resistance, they clubbed Ajmal until he died. They escaped instantly.

Police have registered a case against the absconding suspects.

SUICIDE: A woman committed suicide by taking poison over what her family said domestic issue at Garjakh on Saturday.

The woman reportedly quarrelled with members of her family and took poison. She died on way to a hospital.
