ISLAMABAD, Aug 16: Federal Education Minister Zobaida Jalal on Saturday categorically said she would not tolerate political interference in the affairs of the ministry, as education had suffered a lot due to ill-planning and self-centred policies of the political governments.

She said this while talking to Maulana Wahid Siddiqui, Balochistan Education Minister, here.

Ms Jalal said the government was sparing no effort to improve the standard of education in the country and in this regard it had assigned equal status to all the provinces including FATA, FANA and AJK.

She said the education ministry would direct all the provincial education departments to establish cells for registration of Deeni Madaris. She said bringing the Deeni Madaris into the mainstream was the top priority of the government.

The theme behind the establishment of the registration/facilitation cells is to help the Madaris get the financial package as promised by the government, she added. Ms Jalal said she had directed the officials concerned to facilitate the Madaris in registration.

The education minister said a new policy would be announced soon under which the teachers would get posting in their own district of domicile. She also appealed to the teachers community to invest all their energies in educating the youth instead of approaching the high-ups for their postings and transfers.

She said her ministry would make every possible effort to facilitate the provinces in the field of education, which in turn would facilitate the districts, and thus the devolution plan would run smoothly and effectively.
