PESHAWAR, Aug 16: Unidentified miscreants damaged a 66-KV electricity tower after blasting an explosive device at Shabqader near Peshawar on Thursday night.

A press release issued by the Peshawar Electric Supply Company stated that unidentified persons had planted a powerful explosive device at tower No25 at Saro Kali near Khankhel Qala, Peshawar.

The explosion partially damaged three legs of the tower but a major power breakdown was averted.

The Peshawar Electric Supply Corprotion staff rushed to the area and repaired the damaged parts of the tower, the press release said.

The provincial government had been informed about the incident besides urging it to take action against the miscreants.
