GWADAR: Two suspected militants were killed in a gun battle with security forces in the Hoshab area of Kech district on Sunday.

Official sources said that security personnel launched a search operation in Thalsar locality of Hoshab after receiving information about the presence of some militants there.

They said the personnel were searching houses when the militants opened fire on them. The personnel retaliated and an exchange of fire between them continued for about an hour.

The deceased were identified as Wahag and Washdil, both local residents.

The bodies were first taken to the district hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to their relatives.

The sources said that the two were associated with a banned organisation.

Meanwhile, Levies force found the body of a man in the Shadi-Kour area of Pasni. It was shifted to a hospital where the victim was identified as Murad Jan, a resident of the Aabsar area of Turbat.

Bullet wounds were found on the body.

The motive behind the murder could not be known immediately.
