NOWSHERA: The police on Monday arrested two people over the killing of a transgender person in Kheshgi area here. Sufaid alias Adnan was shot dead after severe torture on Sunday night.

The arrest was made after the deceased’s father, Haroon Rashid, lodged a complaint of the killing to the Nowshera Kalan police.

A resident of Dagai area in Mardan district, the complainant insisted that Sufaid had left home three years ago before living with Amir and Abid in Kheshgi area. He said he met Amir and Abid in Kheshgi three months ago but was told that Sufaid had left the house.

The complainant said he had learned on Sunday about Sufaid’s body lying in the District Headquarters Hospital, Nowshera.

The police said they had arrested Amir and Abid on the complaint of Haroon Rashid and handed over the body to the family after postmortem.
