LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority on Saturday sealed a cafe for flouting relevant rules and regulations, besides imposing fine on two manufacturing units.

The PFA sealed Nirwana Cafe in DHA in a raid for using cosmetic colours, expired and used oil, expired coconut in milk, dirty freezer, inadequate steps to kill pests, absence of manufacturing and expiry dates on items etc, a handout said.

It also imposed a fine of Rs50,000 each on Ashyan Foods and Chohan Foods for using dirty racks for saving raw material, artificial flavours, non-disposal of oil, keeping waste and fresh materials together, lack of cleanliness etc.

The PFA ordered K&S Foods, Ferozepur Road, Five Star Nan Shop, Ayesha Foods and Kolson Snack Manufacturing Unit, Sundar Industrial Estate to improve their standards during the inspection.
