PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company plans to build 38 new grid stations and upgrade the capacity of nine grid stations of 33KV and 66KV in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next five years.

This was stated by Chief Engineer Project Management Unit Mohammad Akbar Khan while briefing the participants of the Junior Management Course about Pesco’s developmental activities, who visited power utility’s headquarters in Wapda House here on Friday. According to a statement, the participants were from different power distribution companies of 134th Junior Management Course of Wapda Staff College Islamabad.

Akbar Khan and Pesco’s director general (HR) Mohammad Salim Jahangir gave the visitors a detailed briefing about the company’s structure, development activities and services to customers.

Mr Khan said during the next five years, 38 new grid stations would be constructed while the capacity of nine grid stations of 33KV and 66KV would be upgraded. He said rehabilitation of two grid stations would be carried out and new power transformers would be installed in nine grid stations. With the completion of these power projects, the whole distribution system will be improved and complaints of customers will be redressed, he said.

The course participants were also briefed about the photo meter reading, which had helped address over-billing complaints. Mr Jahangir briefed the officers about the HR and administrative matters and Pesco structure. Later, the delegation visited various departments of Pesco.
