PESHAWAR: Noor Zaman, former personal secretary of MNA Ayesha Gulalai, has announced to move the National Accountability Bureau and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission against the former PTI leader and her father Shamsul Qayyum over alleged corruption in development projects.

Speaking at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club here on Monday, he alleged the woman lawmaker and her father had gotten kickbacks in development projects and he would take all the proofs to the relevant forums for their accountability.

Mr Zaman alleged the MNA was involved in corruption and, he as her personal secretary, knew many things in that regard to be disclosed before NAB and KP Ehtesab Commission.

He pointed out that the MNA had received Rs7.2million in a road construction project from Bannu link road to Sada Khel Road. He said he himself had provided her Rs4.7million.

Mr Zaman accused Gulalai of embezzling Rs1.2 million from the funds meant to build a road from Lakki Marwat to Tari Khel, while Rs600,000 for a project to install solar-powered tube-well were also misused.

Flanked by PTI former candidate from NA-31, Shangla, Nawaz Mehmood, the party president from Lakki Marwat Saleem Nawaz and others, Noor Zaman asked Ms Gulalai to apologise from the nation and return the looted money to the exchequer.

He claimed the MNA spent this huge amount on construction of her 4.5-kanal house at a cost Rs10 million in Bannu.

He said the corruption in development projects should be investigated and urged the NAB and KPEC to thoroughly probe the assets of Ms Gulalai and her father.

Mr Zaman also said Ms Gulalai had accepted a deal to take RsR600,000 for awarding ticket to a councillor while she held several meetings with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor along with her father.

He further said Shamsul Qayyum was an ambitious person who wished to take ticket of NA-1 Peshawar and also to get the portfolio of interior minister for her daughter and thus he used different tactics to achieve the target.

Speaking at the presser, Saleem Nawaz said PTI legal team was preparing a case against Gulalai and her father and they would soon submit a petition in NAB, and KPEC against them.

He demanded of the government to put name of the lawmaker and her father on ECL.
