PESHAWAR: The police arrested two women for allegedly killing their husband on the outskirts of the city here on Sunday.

An official at the Phandu police station told Dawn that the incident took place on Saturday, when a man identified as Shabbir Ahmed, a resident of Noubahar Colony, was killed while he was asleep.

He said that they had arrested his both wives after a sister of the slain nominated them in the first information report. He identified the accused as Khayal Bibi and Gul Shad.

The police official said that the deceased was said to be very harsh in his dealings with his family and used to quarrel routinely. He said that the slain was father of seven children; however, they too were not on good terms with him.
