HYDERABAD: Activists of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) took out rallies in a number of Sindh towns on Wednesday in favour of disqualified prime minister and the party’s president Mian Nawaz Sharif, dismissing as ‘fake’ the charges which formed the basis of his ouster by the apex court.
In Hyderabad, carrying banners and placards and waving party flags, PML-N activists took out a rally which terminated outside the press club where the leaders made speeches.
PML-N Hyderabad president Syed Shah Zaman Shah described Mr Sharif as the prime minister of the people and said that conspiracies had been hatched against his government since the day he was sworn in as premier.
He said that Pakistan was progressing by leaps and bounds under his leadership but suddenly a spanner was thrown into the works and he was disqualified.
He claimed that the masses had rejected the court’s decision because no other man could claim to be as honest and upright as Mr Sharif. People knew that only Mr Sharif had solution to their problems, he said.
SUKKUR: PML-N activists organised a rally in Jacobabad to express solidarity with their leader, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The charged workers carrying banners and placards and raising slogans ‘Ya Allah Ya Rasool — Nawaz Sharif be-qusoor’ and ‘Go Imran go’, started the rally from Tikundi Bagh and reached the press club where the rally turned into a public meeting.
Local party leaders including district president Akram Abro, Dr Ghulam Sarwar Solangi, Gulsher Weesar and others said on the occasion that Mr Sharif was a ‘hero of the nation’ who had been removed from the post of prime minister on the basis of ‘fake allegations’ but nobody could erase his name from people’s hearts.
They said that Mr Sharif was a popular leader and they saluted him because he had restored peace in the country, eliminated terrorism from Karachi and brought prosperity to the country.
They said that now those who had damaged Jacobabad city and jialas who had looted development funds would have to face accountability.
