Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif vacated the Prime Minister's House on Sunday and departed for Murree along with members of the Sharif family.

The former premier, his wife Kulsum Nawaz, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and his son-in-law Captain Safdar vacated the PM House two days after a five-member bench of the Supreme Court unanimously found Nawaz unfit to hold public office and disqualified him for misdeclaring his assets in a landmark decision on the Panama Papers case.

On Friday, shortly after the apex bench announced the verdict that ousted Nawaz, the PM House had issued a notification saying that Nawaz, despite having "strong reservations" about the SC’s verdict, had stepped down from his post as the premier.

On Sunday, before he departed for Murree, Nawaz met with members of the staff at the PM's House.

Former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also met with the PM House's staff before he left for Murree with the Sharif family.

Holding office while being charged with such serious offences does not seem justifiable and reasonable at all. I am sure that there are laws against it because if you don't vacate the office before the investigation, you are in a position to influence the institutions to work in your favour. We have the example of SECP chairman trying to tamper with the records to protect Nawaz Sharif. Even if Pakistan does not have such a basic requirement in its laws at the moment, Nawaz should have resigned when the proceedings started and should have saved himself from the embarrassment. Bare be-abro ho kar..tere kochay se ham niklay.

In muree where he would be staying in a government lodge? He should stay at his own place or a rented place on his own expense. Not even a single rupee be used for tax payer money for his leisure. He is been enjoying the perks since 30 years. It's high time now. If he stays on govement expense he should be accountable for that

it is really sad to see the govt affairs that they feel humiliated for all the corruption charges which they were given more than fair chance to prove but they dint. what about millions of Pakistanis who have no basic rights no jobs food electricity water health faciitlies children dying of hunger in laps of their parents. if you are the PM then you are responsible for each and every part of the country. you are answerable to 200 millions Pakistanis. are you PM just to make metros and motorways which is also very important but more importantly are things mentioned above. PM house budgets are in hundreds of millions lavish cars and life style at the expense of poor people. shame on all of us for bringing these people in repeatedly

While in Murree try to ponder what have you done for the poor? Health, education are at the bottom line. NS will be accountable in the day of judgement too as he was head of the state. There is no such tyrant ruler in modern day get successful reign.

As an ex Head of State, any PM is entitled to so many constitutional privileges that would be available to Nawaz Sharif, unless cancelled through amendment by the Parliament by 2/3rd majority.

@rajab Generally a grace period is given to vacate a house. He left quickly in 2 days. The usual period for vacating govt or private accomodation is a month after notice.

No doubt the decision was correct and PM should have resignes last year himself but at the same time, I hope everyone realizes that he is walking out and departing so no need for additional.comments. his assets should be siezed but the guy has been a PM in Pakistan and has state secrets and neess to be protected just like past PMs and Presidents.

The system is still the same.. His brother will be the prime minister. The son of his brother will be the chief minister of Punjab. Maryam Nawaz will still hold her office. This means they still can make more money... Another revolution is needed to finish off this family making business with the taxpayers money.

History will remember ex P M Nawaz Shariff as a man who readily agreed to abide by the ruling of the Supreme Court. The orderly exit of him from the Prime Ministers Office / House and bidding farewell to his staff and bureaucrats, is a display of maturity in Pakistani Politics and Democracy. @peace you really need to get your facts right. The SC declared him dishonest as he didn't declare he was chairman of a co in UAE. He was getting paid irrespective of the fact whether he collected his wages or not he had 7 years to come clean. Now that he is being found out he has twisted the argument around to say he was disqualified for not taking his wage. Anyone who has followed the case can see thru this, unless you happen to be part of the awam that has eaten a plateful or few of the biryani that came from him and will believe whatever bye says.

The charges and evidences need to be proved. Nothing has been proved till date except his election deceleration. That looks harsh considering some money here and there. No doubt last judgement is weak and certainly demands a review.

it would have been much more justified and honourable if the DISQUALIFIED Nawaz Sharif took off to a private accommodation or hotel in Murree. Such eyewashes are detrimental to his own credibility and stature as a political leader who become leeches to the system. He shifted to Government House Murree. Is that not a STATE run accommodation paid for by Tax-Money? disqualification is a dishonourable affair if one has the character to feet it. This is a slap on the face of the so-called democracy and noon supporters that a dishonest person leaves the PM house to reside in another Class-1 category state residence with full security detail and protocol. SHAMEFUL
