KARACHI: A sessions court on Tuesday sentenced a man to nine years’ imprisonment in a case pertaining to the murder of an inmate.
Mohammad Ahmed had pleaded guilty of killing undertrial prisoner, Basharat, inside the central prison in March 2012.
An additional district and sessions judge also imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on him and in case of default the convict would have to undergo additional six months in prison.
The court, however, took a lenient view and awarded lesser sentence to him as he had entered into guilty plea.
