RAWALPINDI, Aug 11: The Airport Security Force (ASF) on Monday foiled an attempt to smuggle 5.26kg heroin to Manchester and arrested a person on the charge of drug trafficking, the authorities said.

The accused, Mohammad Arif, managed to reach the departure lounge after clearing all the security and custom checks.

Arif, a resident of Kharian Tehsil, was spotted by the ASF staff for acting suspiciously in the lounge. The ASF staff frisked the accused and seized 5.26kg heroin wrapped around his legs.

Later, the accused was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for further investigation.
