Orphan library

Published July 22, 2017

IN 2015, Aziz Ahmed Jatoi, our constituency MPA, established a library in our little town, Dokri, in honour of his late father Haji Gulam Mustafa Jatoi. For a complete year it was not officially functional. Then, the untiring and unprecedented efforts of our civil society made it functional on March 20, 2016.

It has been over a year since then, but we still lack the facilities to make it a good educational environment. Besides a little furniture, the library does not have basic staff, clean drinking water or even books, daily newspapers and renowned magazines.

There are over 100 students who use the library regularly. We request our leaders to attend to the requirements of the only library in our small town, to enable the readers of today and the leaders of tomorrow.
