SARGODHA: Almost 90 per cent of the parliamentarians are corrupt and it is their motto to earn “double profit” on the investment they made to win the elections.

This was alleged by MNA Jamshed Dasti while talking to local journalists after appearing in an anti-terrorism court.

He said no intrigue was in the offing against the prime minister, alleging that rather he (PM) himself was involved in hatching a conspiracy against Pakistan in collaboration with the Indian premier and the US government and was acting upon their agenda. He added that this act of the prime minister was more alarming than Panamagate.

The MNA who heads his own Awami Raj Party said there was no threat to the democracy from the opposition, rather the prime minister himself and his “five cronies” were a constant threat to democracy as they were busy in spoiling the system in the country.

He said millions of cusec water of rivers was going down the sea but nobody bothered to raise dams in the country to save water for irrigation.

He said the country’s wealth was being plundered by initiating useless projects only to receive kickbacks.

He said that no poor person could get justice, adding: “I am being victimised as I preferred to raise voice for the poor and I openly criticised the prime minister and his cronies in the assembly for their corruption.”

He said that he saluted the judiciary, political parties and the media who helped him during his detention.

He alleged that he was shifted from Muzaffargarh central jail to Sargodha district jail under a plan to kill him in a fake encounter but was saved by the judiciary’s intervention.

He said entire nation was expecting justice from the apex court in Panama case against the “corrupt rulers who ruthlessly plundered the national wealth and were still planning to prolong their rule.”
