Following the latest developments in the Panamagate implementation case, opposition parties have decided to further tighten the noose against the ruling PML-N and made contacts to devise a joint strategy against the government, reported DawnNews.

The JIT's report following the probe into the business dealings of the first family suggests that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his sons Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, as well as daughter Maryam Nawaz, have been found in violation of Section 9 of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Ordinance, 1999.

Following the submission of the report and the apex court's orders against those responsible for record tampering, PPP and PTI demanded of the PM Sharif to resign from his post. The PML-N however rejected the JIT report, levelling serious accusations against the JIT members.

Subsequently, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi made telephonic contacts with the Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah and Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq separately.

All the three leaders agreed to convene a special session of the NA to discuss the prevailing political situation in the country.

Earlier in the day, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said Nawaz Sharif should have resigned on moral grounds the day two judges of the SC had ruled that "he was no more fit to hold public office".

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also demanded of the PM Sharif to resign without any delay. He said in a statement that the time for taking correct political decisions is short and advised Nawaz Sharif to resign forthwith.
