Four bodies recovered from river

CHITRAL, Aug 9: Four bodies of the victims of a road accident were recovered from Gram Chashma river on Saturday.

In all 16 people had drowned when a jeep fell into the river on Thursday.

Twelve of them are still missing.

The villagers told Dawn that volunteers of the Focus Humanitarian Assistance (FHA) of Arkari and Shoghor rushed to the spot as soon as the accident took place and began rescue operations.

FIVE HELD: Police arrested five proclaimed offenders wanted in different crimes here on Saturday.

Superintendent of police Mohammad Saeed Khan told Dawn that Saifoor, Sakhi, Mafad Khan, Atta Gul and Gul Faraz, all residents of Lachigram Damil, were absconding since 1999 after committing different crimes.
