KARACHI: IBA affairs discussed

KARACHI, Jan 4: Affairs relating to Institute of Business Administration Karachi were reviewed at a high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro at Governor House here on Friday.

On the occasion, various matters including the recently held IBA admission tests and educational and administrative affairs of IBA were discussed.

In the meeting which was attended by members of the Board of Governors of IBA and other officials, the details of shortcomings observed in the test for admission to medical colleges were analysed and various decisions taken for adopting a fool-proof and transparent procedure.

The meeting was informed that significant headway has been made by IBA in the field of education. The meeting appreciated the improvement in academic matters and it was hoped that in this regard IBA will not only maintain its standard but also the teaching and research activities will be enhanced.

It was informed that at present 10 PhDs are performing duties in the IBA while six other teachers have gone abroad on scholarship for PhD.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Mohammedmian Soomro called for adoption of all possible steps to maintain the academic standard of IBA.

He also directed the establishment of an endowment fund in all the Universities of Sindh, IBA etc as well as compilation of Directory of Alumni.

The governor stressed the need for community participation for ensuring transparency, stability and financial improvement.

Soomro appreciated the efforts of members of IBA’s Board of Governor’s for their sincere and committed cooperation towards bringing improvement in the Institute.—APP
