LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf spokesman Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday held back-to-back two press conferences asserting that the Sharifs became “ensnared” in contradictory statements of the family members.

On the other hand, he expressed his surprise that everybody from the Sharif family, who appeared before the joint investigation team, came out and launched tirade against Imran Khan.

He said the Sharif family was being asked about money trail of its billion-dollar properties and assets.

He said Maryam Nawaz got annoyed as to why she was being asked about money trail without considering that the nation wanted to know how did the family amass billion-dollar property. He said nation was asking what inventions they had made that helped the family amass wealth.

Flanked by Dr Yasmin Rashid and Ejaz Chaudhry, the PTI spokesman said Nawaz Sharif was hiding his assets in the name of his children.

He said the entire Islamabad was blocked for Maryam Nawaz’s appearance before the JIT. Stating that the party’s political leaders and workers did not reach Islamabad, he said they were no more with the Sharif family to protect its corruption.

Dr Yasmin Rashid said Maryam Nawaz and Ishaq Dar were the central ‘accused’ in the Panama Papers scandal.

Ejaz Chaudhry demanded that SSP Arsala should resign for saluting an ‘accused’, who was appearing before JIT for investigations.
