PARACHINAR: Five more people injured in the deadly twin bomb explosions in Parachinar succumbed to their injuries on Sunday, raising the toll to 72. At least 10 others are said to be in precarious condition.

Officials confirmed that five more injured of Friday’s blasts died in hospital, which pushed the death toll to 72.

The people of Parachinar, headquarters of Kurram tribal region, continued to stage a sit-in to protest against the bomb blasts for the third day running. They said that they would end the sit-in after Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Bajwa and Federal Interior Minister came to negotiate with them.

Meanwhile, Corps Commander of Peshawar Lt Gen Nazir Ahmad Butt visited Parachinar on Sunday where he was given a briefing on the security situation in Kurram Agency.
