Two mainstream Urdu films and one Punjabi will be released on Eidul Fitr.

One of the movies is much-hyped Yalghaar which has been produced and directed by Dr Hassan Waqar Rana after the massive success of his earlier venture, Waar.

Shaan and Sana Bucha are the main lead of the film.

Mr Rana says the fi lm is the most expensive in the country to date.

He says the movie would be a different cinematic experience for his audience.

Talking to this reporter, Shaan says the film is based on a true story and he has given his best in the film.

He says he has played a similar kind of role in Waar.

Another movie that is being released on Eid is Mehrunisa V Lub U.

It’s cast includes Danish Taimoor and Sana Javed who is making a debut.

The film will be a comical journey as evident from Nawaz’s previous drama productions and fi lm.

Punjabi movie Mirasan, directed by Shahid Rana, is also being released on Eid with Sobia Khan and Moammar Rana as its lead actors.

New commercial dramas will be staged at the Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, on Eid.

One hall has been given on Rs0.7m auction and another hall on Rs200,000 to private parties.

The council believes that stage artistes could provide better entertainment to the audience.

The arts council has beefed up its security for Eid.

The private theatres have also made enhanced security arrangements for new Eid plays.

The Punjab Council of Arts will hold a musical evening after Eid, featuring folk singers, selected by the divisional arts councils.

There would be music gala in Lahore where both seasoned and emerging artistes will perform.

It is likely to be held at Open Air Theatre, Bagh-i-Jinnah.
