PM to visit GIK Institute

SWABI, Aug 7: Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali is due to visit the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology on Aug 20.

The institute’s rector Dr Mohammad Naseer Khan told newsmen here on Thursday that the prime minister would be the chief guest at the freshmen’s induction ceremony.

The new students and their parents would participate in the ceremony.

He said 200 of the 2,600 applicants had been selected.

Notification demanded: The opposition in the Swabi tehsil council has demanded that the provincial local government secretary should issue a notification about the nomination of District Naib Nazim Attiqur Rehman.—Correspondent
