QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly passed Rs326.36 billion worth of provincial budget for the financial year 2017-18 on Wednesday evening.

The budget includes an allocation of Rs86.11bn for Public Sector Development Prog­ra­m­­me and arou­­nd Rs240bn for non-development expenditures.

During the assembly session, Finance Minister Sardar Muhammad Aslam Bizenjo presented 58 demands for grant one by one. Forty-nine deman­­ds, worth Rs240bn, were for non-development and nine worth Rs86.11bn for the development sector.

Leader of the Opposition Maulana Abdul Wasay of the JUI-F, Deputy Opposition Lea­der Zamarak Khan Piralizai of the ANP and other members did not submit any cut motion.
