Ayaz urges JIT to avoid controversy

LAHORE: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq says the decision in the Panama Papers case will be acceptable to all if it is based on merit.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, he stressed that the joint investigation team probing the money-laundering allegations on the Sharif family should not make itself controversial. “If the JIT works within the ambit of law, no one will have reservations against it,” he said and added that the person involved in releasing the picture of Hussain Nawaz had yet to be taken to task.

Asked about granting NOC to former army chief Gen Raheel Sharif to head a Saudi alliance against terrorism, Mr Sadiq said: “I have no knowledge about it. However, if this matter comes to the National Security Committee, I will look into this.”

There are no if's and but's Mr speaker. The eventual verdict is coming from the superior court, not the JIT. You are supposed to be neutral and show respect to the judiciary.

The messages from the politician is a game played with plans. I am unable to understand what is the merit and demerit. If the decision is not asper your wishes with all efforts to pressurized all institutions is not on merit and will not be acceptable. Till now you are playing very well and now you might have started thinking darker side of your game and you started using the merits. where is your merits in all your rulings. For God sake don't influence the institutions let them complete their job they are already under stress and put on stake themselves and their family and we don't know weather they will stand or bow down.
