Panama JIT summons PPP's Rehman Malik

The joint investigation team (JIT) probing the Sharif family's business dealings abroad has summoned PPP Senator Rehman Malik to appear for questioning, the senator's spokesperson said Monday.

The spokesperson said that in a summons addressed to the senator, the JIT had asked Malik to appear before it on June 13 (Tuesday).

However, Malik, who has been abroad since June 9 in connection with the PPP's overseas affairs, has requested an adjournment, the spokesperson said, adding that Malik will cut short his visit abroad in order to appear before the JIT.

PM Nawaz is also expected to appear before the JIT on Thursday, making him the first incumbent to appear before such a panel, let alone one probing allegations of financial irregularities or fraud against nearly his entire family, going back three generations.

BTW what are PPP foreign affairs, at the backdrop of shrinking popularity in Punjab and losing weight in Sindh. PPP stalwarts may please remain at home to save their party from losing leaves. Rehman Malik must appear before JIT in time to input his valuable statement.
