KARACHI, Oct 13: Taking exception to the anti-US demonstration and protest rallies in Karachi, Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain said that parties involved in the activities were using the city for their ulterior motives.

In a statement from London, he asked the jihadi and religious groups to make Punjab the focal point for carrying out their protest marches and demonstrations because, he said, most of the religious parties were based there.

“Why do they choose the province of Sindh, which has been deprived of its rights and even water,” he questioned and pointed out that the land of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai was a land of peace, love and harmony, which was being held hostage on gunpoint by the extremist groups.
