CHAKWAL: Police here arrested a man on the charge of murdering his wife.

The mother of two was stabbed to death in the Dhedwal village in the jurisdiction of the Dohman police on Sunday. The father of the woman told the police that his son-in-law used to quarrel with her daughter off and on. A few weeks ago she was beaten by her husband after which she had to stay for some time at her parents’ house. He said after repeated calls on her mobile phone when his daughter did not respond on Sunday, he contacted his son-in-law who told him that she was unwell. The father said after some time his son-in-law called him and said his wife had died.

“When I along with my relatives reached the house my daughter was lying in a pool of blood,” he said, accused his son-in-law of murdering his daughter.

The police have arrested the accused who has not confessed to killing his wife.

The accused had divorced three wives earlier and contracted a fourth marriage with the diseased five years ago.

“We are investigating the case from different angles,” a police official said.
