HYDERABAD, Aug 5: The director, Admissions, University of Sindh, has notified here on Tuesday that the last date for submitting admission forms in the Institute of Women Development Studies for the academic session of 2003 in MA, MSc Home Economics and Post-Graduate Diploma in Community Development (PGD) has been fixed as Aug 16.
Meanwhile, the dean, Faculty of Educations, University of Sindh, has notified that admission forms for admissions in BEd and MEd (morning and evening classes), MA Previous Education in morning and evening programme in the Faculty of Education, University of Sindh, for the academic session of 2003-2004 are available at the branches of Habib Bank Limited, Old Campus, Hyderabad and Jamshoro branches, on prescribed form fee and also on the University website www.education.usindh.edu.pk
The last date for submitting admission forms has been fixed as Aug 9 by hand in the office of the dean, Faculty of Education, University of Sindh, Elsa Kazi campus, Hyderabad.
Those candidates who appeared in the BEd examination of 2003 are also eligible to submit their admission forms for provisional admissions in MEd programme.
Regular classes will commence from Aug 11.
LUHMS: The vice chancellor, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, has said that the university was sending several teams of specialists to the rain-affected areas to provide medical treatment to the people.
He said this while presiding over an inter-active workshop on “Rain and Health”, organized by the faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences here on Tuesday.
He said the university was in close touch with the director general, health services, in planning the relief work.
Speaking on the occasion, the dean, faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Prof A. Bachayo Memon, said that the rains were in fact a blessing but in countries like Pakistan where there was no proper planning, it was a bane.
He said thousands of people in Badin, Thatta, Hyderabad, Karachi and Tharparkar had been rendered shelterless due to heavy rains.
He said the rain has also exposed the displaced persons to all types of diseases.
He stressed the need for taking timely measures to check the spread of various diseases.
The others who spoke at the workshop included Prof Rafique Ahmed Soomro, Dr Sirajul Haq and others.
