ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday termed the President Mamnoon Hussain’s address to the joint sitting of parliament as positive and fair.

In a brief and informal chat with the media, the prime minister said, ‘the performers’ continued ‘performing’ and the president continued addressing the joint sitting to fulfil constitutional obligations.

“His address to joint sitting was good and positive.”

Govt will complete its constitutional tenure, says PM

When asked about the attitude of opposition parties during the president’s address, he said that his remarks about the opposition were the same as of the whole nation. He expressed the confidence that the government would complete its five-year constitutional tenure.

Earlier, PM Sharif called on President Hussain and discussed overall security situation in the country.

In a meeting held here at the Aiwan-i-Sadr, the prime minister apprised the president on details of meeting of cabinet’s national security committee which was held on Wednesday, the Media Office of President House said.

The two leaders also discussed the One Belt, One Road Summit held in China which was attended by the prime minister and expressed satisfaction over the progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
