SAHIWAL, Aug 4: Two labourers were buried alive when the earth of a well they were digging fell on them on Monday in Thatha Bakhtawat village.
A farmer, Mullan Amir, hired six labourers for sinking a tubewell. Suddenly, a heap of earth fell on labourers while they were at work in the well. Dastagir and Gomaan died on the spot while Akbar, Abdul Razzaq, Faqir Muhammad and Nabi Bakhsh Mistri were dug out alive from the well.Police are looking into the matter.
SOOMRO: Senate Chairman Mian Muhammad Soomro has showed his ignorance about the constitutional package to be brought in parliament by the government or the opposition.
The senate chairman said this while talking to newsmen at the residence of Rao Irshad Ali here on Monday.
He said the Sindh province enjoyed cordial relations with the federal government and he knew nothing about any change in that province. To strengthen the federation, he said he would continue to play his role as a patriotic citizen.
Mr Soomro, however, expressed his satisfaction over the foreign policy adopted by President Pervez Musharraf and the government. He said the foreign hand in the recent incidents of terrorism in the country could not be ruled out.
Earlier, Mian Muhammad Soomro went to Pakpattan where he visited the shrine of Baba Fariduddin Shakar Ganj.
DEPRIVED: Three cheats deprived a showroom owner of his car here on Sunday.
The cheats expressed their intention of purchasing a car (Karachi-3354) of the showroom owner, Ahmed Ali. After trial, they handed over the key to the owner. As Ali along with his friend SI Sabir came out of the showroom, he found his car missing.
Grain Market police have not been able to find any clue to the missing car.
