QUETTA, Aug 4: The provincial government has refused to attend the Hub dam water distribution committee meeting and has demanded that the committee’s head should be appointed from Balochistan.

The meeting was scheduled to be held in near future. Presently, additional chief secretary Sindh heads the committee while Balochistan’s secretary irrigation and additional secretary water and power development authority are its members.

Sources said that the provincial government had raised many objections to the water distribution formula and informed the authorities concerned that it would not attend the fourthcoming meeting.
